Just wanted to ask if anyone had this issue with their q50. Mine is a 2017 red sport. The code came on when I did the scan. The A/C works as supposed to. Any input on this issue would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

What DTC did your scanner throw? B2630? B2631? Any others?

The sunload sensor may register a malfunction when indoors, at dusk, or at other times when light is insufficient. When performing the diagnosis indoors, use a lamp (60 W or more) that is pointed at the sunload sensor. The sunload sensor is located to the left of the defrost vents on the dash.

Were you scanning in your garage? DTC B2631 indicates that the sensor is seeing less than 33W/m2, so the A/C auto amp. is thinking something's fubar.

Of course, the DTC could mean a bad sunload sensor, a harness or connector problem or even a faulty A/C auto amp. You say your A/C is working correctly though, so it's probably not that drastic.

Thank you for your post

It was code B2631. The first scan was done in the garage. The second time it was during a cloudy and rainy day ( no sunlight was present)

I have noticed that there are TWO sensors one on the left and right. You stated that it’s the driver side sensor that might be affected.

Is there any way I can test the sensor to confirm it’s malfunction before I pull and replace ?

Thanks

If you have a 2017, you are still under warranty. Why wouldn't you just bring it in to have the dealer test and replace if necessary?
