Sooooo I had the Now Loading All Apps problem on my 2015 Q50 and like an idiot hit the reset button in the diagnostic menu. Now I only have 3 buttons, no map, a broken clock, and no stereo. I took it to the Infiniti and they said that they can not perform a reset or anything to make it functional again. The cost of replacement is $4300. Not something I'd like to do. If I were to get a Pheonix vertical screen or the like, would I regain functionality of my speakers? If not what other course of action do I have? Get an A/V unit from the junkyard?

The service department said it's the AV Control Unit and not the Display Control Unit?

I thought I saw someone else here who hit the reset and lost what you have lost but his dealership downloaded new firmware instead of replacing hardware. You must have a different problem then he did.

You might want to consider picking one up from a salvage yard.

So does it delete the rudimentary operating system? Doing a reset on my cell phone doesn't brick it. I see no reason why that should happen. Consumers do stupid crap all they time. Your ignorance or curiosity shouldn't be punished by making the device inoperable.

It takes away all configuration data about the car, so my maps do not work, my stereo does not work, my dual zone climate control will no longer sync, even my clock no longer works. I get three buttons on the screen that do just about nothing because the speakers won’t work. Even the fm radio shows stars where the tuning numbers should be.

I admittedly did the same thing by going into a hidden menu and pushing the wrong button! Wiped out everthing including clock, radio, date, etc. Could not set anything. I came clean and told dealer what I did and they were able to reprogram it. They said the computer didn't even know which car it was. Seriously jacked it up. However, they reprogrammed it for $185.00 and was on my way. Haven't done it again. Lesson learned!

The dealership is flat out lying to you, you essentially performed a factory reset of the device meaning you need to have it configured based on your VIN
of the car and what packages were optioned with it.

I'd take your car somewhere else.

That’s what I figured after as much reading as I have done about it. I’m going to try and take it to the next closest dealer which is 1.5 hr away.

Wow, what an introduction! Welcome to the forum!

In addition, some information about the car would also be helpful: Year? Model? Bose y/n? Already been @dealer y/n? If yes, what was the outcome?

With all this information you should be able to get a DCU from a junk yard. First of all I'd visit a dealer though, to get it checked with Nissan Consult – maybe there is a chance to reprogram the unit...
