Chassis Control System Error

2015 Q50S with 91K miles. On the way to pickup kiddos from daycare, stop to get gas (premium), and after filling up will start for a second and then die. Screen then shows Chassis Control system error.

Luckily Grandma's car still had booster seats in it so they're staying with them overnight until I can get my car fixed or a rental or something. Car is being towed to dealer, can't wait to see their bill since out of warranty.

Really disappointed that my car did this after driving without an issue and almost stranded us at the gas station.

Huh the VQ37 is pretty rock solid, not sure I've actually ever seen a bad throttle body reported at least in these forums, although there has been rough idle and some occasionally stalling of cars if the throttle body isn't cleaned every 3-4 years.

Were they ever cleaned before?

I haven't personally cleaned them, I'm not sure if I recall that being part of their service(s) in the past either. I've stuck to all of their suggested mileage services.
My guess is a sensor on it when bad, not the throttle body itself, but they're not being super clear about the issue either.

They said the electric motor that controls the butterfly is burned out. They said there was nothing preventative that could have been done, "they just burn out over time".
I asked if I should be worried about the other side and replace it. "No, you can't predict when they go bad."

Very reassuring.

You most assuredly can predict when it will go bad. You'll be on a trip with the family, it will be late at night, pouring down rain, and that's when the other side will take a dump and you'll be stranded. ;)

This failure is unusual, as many cars go 100k and beyond without this problem, even 200k) my own throttle bodies are brand new clean and I would definitely be shocked if I experienced a failure with this particular part of my Q50. The real problem here which hurts the most from my experience is $1,400 price tag to replace a imo 200 part which at most is an hour? labor?,So if this was say $4-500 all in wouldn't you feel that was more reasonable? Instead you have an outrageous repair bill on a $10,000 dollar car. Imo.
