Difference between muffler delete and axle back exhaust?

So I recently installed ldps on myVR30 and also did a resonator delete. I’m thinking on either installing an axleback exhaust or doing a muffler delete next. I’m having trouble deciding with what the difference is between the two honestly. If I were to do a muffler delete with 3” pipes wouldn’t the essentially be the same as getting a stilled axleback exhaust? As far as sound, which of the two would have less drone?

Well for the 3.0T VR30DDTT a muffler delete will not be bad as long as you still have resonators. You would still have lots of droning but the turbos restrict the engine sounds way too much so if you went with an axle back with resonators you might think it’s not loud enough as compared to the naturally aspirated VQ35HR or VQ37VHR Q50’s.

@Ddnspider I believe has his OEM primary & secondary cats / pipes / mid pipe removed in favor of “straight pipe” but has kept his OEM exhaust. Plenty of options out there - along with YouTube sound clips to find your favorite sound.
