Have you seen the Q50 tail lights? It's a copy from the Sonata, which is a copy from the Accord.
I have...I've also seen 2010 Infiniti M's and 2009 FX's taillights. Aside from the Q50's LED taillight display, its taillights are a natural evolution of the M's and FX's versus copying the Sonata's taillights.

hey, bargain luxury was NOT a shot merely a statement of for what you are getting a a certain price point. still would rather have a car with the potential to hold more of its value as the years go by.
Oh, this is a whole 'nother discussion. I don't know what you think of Hyundai but you've got to bring up some equal comparisons so that I know what you're comparing with.

Only those people who are uneducated in what Hyundai is versus what they used to be--especially compared to other cars that share in their respective segments.
Its probably impractical to change a name; however, right or wrong there are some that will not buy a Hyundai based on name alone. Call them what you like, but as a manufacturer trying to sell cars, it's real. I think it's fading, but some just can't shake a name. If I could afford a driver, I'd buy that Equus in a heartbeat :)

The roads around here are absolutely flooded with Hyundai cars. Flooded. I think the perception that hyundai is a lesser brand is fading extremely fast. Is it still there, of course, but hyundai is killing it right now.

I drove my Sonata today, first time since buying the Q50. Did I miss the Q50 or what!

But you probably would think that a Toyota carries a higher amount of intangible external value than a Hyundai..
if by that you mean i would not trade my '07 Corolla for a '07 Hyundai you got that right, however offer me a brand new Sonata or up & I'd trade no problem because the Corolla will not retain value well enough to catch a 2013/14.....

Even the 07' Sonata was a great car. Looked a lot like the Accord. I had an 06' v6 - pretty fast and a very nice car, just no decent tech options. I'd take it over a Corolla any day, much bigger too - even bigger than the new Sonata's.

Speaking of Sonata's, the new Kia Optima is one heck of a car for the money. The interior finish leaves a bit to be desired but you get a lot of car for not a lot of money.

Kia Optimas are all over the place down here. As much as people criticize the exterior design language of the car (and maybe Kias in general), I've yet to see an Optima on the road and not be impressed with its design. It's held up surprisingly well.

I also saw my first Kia Cadenza out on the road when I was in Denver and it's pretty sharp looking as well.

I seriously considered the Cadenza when shopping this time around. But the design just didn't do it for me. I really don't like the front end at all. The Optima is nice but coming from a Sonata, I wanted something more. There is no doubt you get a lot more with the Q50S compared to the Kia or Hyundai, but you pay for it.

Agreed first thought the Q looked like a Sonata, but after driving by some M37 realized that is the original source of both!

Why did I choose the Q50 over the 335i (or Audi S4)? Because it's impossible to get those cars well equipped for around $450-$500 a month, sign and drive.

Of all the luxury RWD V6 sport sedans with decent rear leg room in the market place today (sorry IS and ATS), the Q50 is the only one that doesn't "break the bank" IMO. Plus, it looks fantastic, drives great, and offers the latest in tech / trend.

Is the comparison the Q50 vs 335i OR Q50 Hybrid versus 335i???

Seems performance\price is more in line between the two.. Whereas the Q50 would be more in line with the 328i, no?

The is Kia's coming luxury sedan. The side view of the taillight is the same as the Q50.

I am sure all the rage will be how Infiniti ripped of the design from Kia!
