Yea, Q50 is definitely bigger than a 3. It actually sits between a 3 and a 5 as far as size goes.

The F30 (2012 and later) are the ones that switched to electric power assisted steering and a lot of people hated it. I've driven a 2013 335i in a test drive, but can't remember enough about it.

An M3 is one BMW I would not have a problem with if someone gave it to me!

If later that I don't have problem tossing 60K down the drain, I definitely get M4. Since it came out, I am digging the look and what it can do! My concern is maintenance cost which could be money pit. I know GTR is probably a bit far to get but M is my next in the list! If not, considering RCF is it turns out to be good since it is Japanese and I don't have to deal with headache of maintaining it.

That is a big part of why I stick around the Japanese cars. I don't want a car payment and a maintenance payment unless I'm just rolling in money.

Yea the M4 is gorgeous. Black on black with the upgraded dark wheels with silver highlights... I seriously considered telling the soon-to-be fiancée that "it's just not working out" and putting the ring money down on that thing.

But then I got home and she was cooking dinner with just an apron on, and I remembered why I can wait to buy that M4 lol...

OK the truth my wife wanted a BMW so I got one for her a new fully loaded 328 all-wheel drive unit. It was the worst mistake of my life the thing was in the shop more than the driveway. I mean it was crazy and they are known to have reliability issues but ???. I have spoken to a few 3 series owners so don’t start spouting they are reliable you would be twisting the truth to say the least. It was so bad we lost it on BMW and they finally agreed to do something for us. They put us in a 528 equivalent all-wheel drive for a small increase in payment and took the other car back 3 years early on the lease. It ran OK for about a year or so and then it started having electrical issues. One time the bloody power steering turned off while on a on ramp. She almost got killed buy that piece of #@*???. Other times it would just not start or the door would not unlock or lock. There were other issue but both cars where a disaster, we finally dumped that one with 2 year left on the lease and took a massive hit. But there is no way I would let her drive that unreliable car it could have killed her and my kids. She is now back in a Infiniti and very happy to be, not often a wife admits she was wrong but she did and still thanks me for getting her out of it. She now has a X60 fully loaded and loves it.

OH have my custom cab back system now boy does she sound awsome!!!

As for the comment about performance my car was a 2010 G37XS and I am comparing it to the equivalent year 335i not todays. BMW had to make it faster to compete so let’s compare apple to apples shale we. From Zero to 60.com ( 2009 BMW 335i Coupe 0-60 mph 5.0 Quarter Mile 13.8) they did not have a 2010. Note the time of 5.0 flat same as the 2009 G37 sedan I posted earlier in this thread. Add some modes and Yes I could pull away from a 335! It is right there in black and white. You can’t argue with that. http://www.zeroto60times.com/BMW-Bimmer-0-60-mph-Times.html So sorry but I did pull away from a few of them and I stand by what I said the S4 and S5 seemed to be faster and harder for me to beat. The current model (2013 BMW 335i M Sport Sedan 0-60 mph 4.5 Quarter Mile 13.1) is have a second faster than the 2009 you see a difference I DO a whole have a second faster than the 2009. Like I said BMW had to make it faster to compete. As for luxury sorry Infiniti is way nicer inside and the Q50 is light years ahead of any 3 series in reliability and luxury. I do agree they need to beef up the power on the car a bit and get it down to equivalent to the 335i like it was in 2009 and really wished they had. But my car is fast as it is and I would take a car that is reliable and safe to drive over a .3 -.5 of a second difference in performance any day.

I test drove a 335i with m sport package, and I must admit, I was impressed. It's definitely the better performer (imo) vs Q50S (hybrid or non-hybrid). It's not just about 0-60 times, but how everything integrates... power\handling, driving dynamics!

With all that being said, I am happy with my choice due to the fact that Infiniti offers a bigger bang for the buck.. A similarly equipped BMW would be considerably more $$$.

Hopefully, Infiniti gets its act together, in the near future, if they truly want to be a competitor to BMW\Audi.

i'm not a fan of the new (f30) gen 3 series as a whole, but i do like the turbo platform they give you.. makes it easy to make some more power. didn't like the steering feel of the new 335, but it did handle well i'll give it that. brakes were good as always interior has become even more bleh. not a huge fan of the exterior styling either, but i'm ok with it on the M models.. personally i'd be fine if they kept all models looking like anything prior to the e90 (minus the hideous late 90s ti they offered)

q50 - didn't like how it handled at all, but i'll admit i didn't get a lot of time in it. looks great, price was great, lease deals were awesome. interior is comfy and layout is "ok" in my opinion, some good some meh parts to it. exhaust was nice untouched coming from a nice 3.7 vq and accelerated pretty well.

no doubt a q will be a better option for the price especially if you have no desire to tune it.

if its a lease its tough to beat the q50, however, if i did get a comparable lease deal (seen them from time to time) i'd probably stick with the 335 since i could tune it, have a stick, and be maintenance/warranty free. my taste is a bit more power/performance oriented though.. q is definitely a better overall option out of the box.

I'm in the same boat (I realize this now!)... Power\performance is very HIGH on my list, I can deal with a 'meh' interior providing the driving dynamics are top notch. I'm not sure what the steering wheel feel was like in the earlier versions, but if it was better than what it is now, good lord!! If I could swap out of my lease right now I would go with a 335i, even if it meant running the risk of looking like everyone else on the road.

I'm looking forward to the next 3 years, hopefully infiniti comes out with a true driver oriented vehicle, if not I'm sure there will be a lot of other options available.

Anyone interested in swapping me out of my lease, now???????
