Just got back from spring break and threw this test bench together. I have some exciting news coming up for custom code execution (see that little dongle?😉), configuration backups, performance meter improvements (AWD percentage) and even dashcam functionality using the factory reverse camera. Stay tuned.

Also, another cry for help: if anyone with the Infiniti remote start app would let me send a dongle for free to log the messages sent by the TCU for remote start/stop/lock/unlock/etc I would be forever in your debt. It will take five minutes and I desperately want to implement this functionality in the aftermarket space since Infiniti shut the service down for older model years.

It may be too late to collect messages. They turned it off in February. This is what the app does now when you open the app, at least for us 3g people.

Yeah I figured as much for the 3G guys, I am just hoping the CAN message scheme is the same in the 4G modules on the newer cars. Not sure why they would change something like that.

Would remote start by keyfob not help you get the data you need?

That is what I was wondering as well. I'm assuming the CAN message to start the vehicle is the same whether received via keyfob or via the mobile network based app.

Well my car has been in the shop for the better part of the last 5 weeks, so progress has certainly slowed. That being said, I had to start work on a sister project (pre-2020 custom TCU replacement) that gives me access to the CAN bus and the cellular network due to the hardware design of the DCU.

More is coming though!
