Alright, got my price! Thanks to this thread and those who told me to be patient.
$485 with CT tax, first month at signing. $58k sticker, 20% total discount. It’s possible the number could go lower as the next two months play out but the black/black inventory in the area could be an issue. I’m happy with the deal, will thoroughly enjoy with no regrets.
Congrats on the car.. you mind sharing your dealership, its sucks in NYC/LI, dealers quoting me $600plus...

You won't get bored with the RS - it's a great car for the $ (lease $)

I've had mine for almost 2 years and I'm not bored. With that said, my next car is an M3 or RS3.
Get the RS3 those 5-cylinder engines will probably turn into collectors also current Gen M3's ride like crap. lol

Sup peeps. So my lease on my 15 Q50 sport is coming to end. Paying $397 a month currently and didn’t put any money down.

Looking to get into an RS 10k a year lease. I don’t need any of the driver aids. Obviously not putting $ down. Gone to 3 dealerships and they won’t budge below $600 a month. Shouldn’t the RS be leasing around $480?

Any help is appreciated.

My lease quote on a basically optioned Sport AWD was $500/mo with 5K down.

It was a $47,300 car with a $10K discount right off the top.

Lease noob here..

Wife's Jeep Patriot is likely to be bought back by Chrysler for being a lemon, hearing is 10/9. We have started looking for a replacement SUV, wife really likes the Volvo XC40, current nationwide lease offer is $375 /36 Mo. $3,375 cash due at signing, No security deposit required. Monthly payment of $375, based on $36,195 MSRP

How can I arm myself to go in to get the best deal for us? Is the key getting the agreed-upon sale price down/discounted? We have money to put down but would be nice to keep it in pocket instead.

Edit: also using this site to try to calculate https://www.calculator.net/auto-lea...alue=0&csaletax=5.75&cresidualvalue=23164.80&printit=0&ctype=standard&x=83&y=13

Basically, you'd be trying to negotiate the "price of the car" down. In lease terms, this is the cap cost.

You also want to be sure the car you're buying is equipped the way you'd like it, and that the mileage allowance is suitable for your needs. If you're unsure about your mileage needs, take the option with lower mileage. You can always just pay the mileage penalty, but you don't get a refund for turning the car in with lower mileage.

On that T5 AWD with no options, you're looking at an MSRP of $36,195 and an invoice price of $34,083. I don't know how Volvo negotiates, and what other incentives they have to offer there, but if you can get the residual and Money Factor information from the dealer, or find it online, you can find out what amount of discount gets you to the payment you'd like to be at. If payment isn't an issue, then I'd just get the price as low as possible on the car, and put down as little as possible.

Hope that's helpful.

Thank you @Loring. There's a moderator on the edmunds.com forums that is providing MF and residual rates for my area and should respond back today. Feels much better being armed when I sit down

I get free oil and a deck spoiler included.
Free oil change for 3yrs total about $360. 2 oil change per year ($60x2)
Deck spoiler, you can buy it on ebay for $125.
So that's not really a deal.
