ITB15-018 is for "Q50, Q50 HYBRID WITH 4-PISTON FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS" meaning Sport versions only.
Dealer told me that 3-4 mm rear brake pads and brake's judder at 22k miles on my Q50 Premium was "expected" wear&tear ;-)
But, I know that it's not. 80% light traffic close to speed limit hwy driving shouldn't lead to the brake judder at 22k miles.

Just received a call from the dealership after dropping my Q50s off for vibration when braking. They advised that Infiniti has identified the brake pin is too thin on the 2014 model and they have now designed a thicker pin. They replaced both pins and resurfaced the rotors at no charge. Hoping it is much better tomorrow when I pick it up.

Did you give the bedding procedure a shot? GF said she was having this issue the other night so I performed the bedding procedure and she has had no complaints since :)
Confused. You performed the bedding procedure on her or her brakes?>:D

Infiniti Q50S developed the brake shudder problem (warped rotors) at around 15k miles. We tolerated it until about 19k but then it was so bad we took it back. After a bit of arguing the dealer said that Infiniti had admitted there was a known problem and would fix the issue; I believe it included changing the pads to a different grade.
It worked, and the car was good until... about 38k when the problem started to return. Car now has 42k on it and the brakes are back to awful. I took it back to Thousand Oaks Infiniti and was now told that no, there isn't a 'known' problem, but the rear rotors are warped a bit and need resurfacing. They laid the blame at the aftermarket rear pads we'd had installed and we now have to go back to the tire/brake shop to fix it.
This is the second year of a 3 year lease, so presumably next year when it's time to return the car with about 60k the brakes will need doing a 3rd time.
We have been leasing new cars for well over twenty years across multiple brands. We have never had rotors warp before 60k miles on anything, yet we are now made to feel that this is our fault. Infiniti sucks and we will never buy another one.

Need new front and rear brakes at 20,000 miles

Started getting a vibration when slowing down about 15,000 miles. Took it in at 20,000 miles. Dealer said they would cover the front brakes but not the rear brakes. My wife will tell you that I hardly use the brakes and I have driven BMWs for 18 years, each one for 3 years and typically around 35,000 miles -- and never needed new rear brakes. This car is clearly defective so I will be arguing with the dealer on Monday about the $400 for the rear brake job. This issue is nothing more than a revenue generator for the dealers and they are getting fat but not on my nickel. I will fight this one til the end.

If you are thinking about purchasing a Q50 think again. Look at all the posts about brake and steering issues with the Q50. Mine has been pretty good other than this brake issue but the fact that the company won't step up and own the issue is troubling.

So I bought a used 2014 q50 premium with 22k from a Lexus dealership on July 8th and purchased the 5 yr bumper to bumper warranty. As always stated, they don't cover wear and tear. I have experienced the very noticeable vibration when braking. Should I bring this up to the local Infiniti dealer to see if it's something they will cover since I've only had the car for 2 weeks?

I had a similar issue with my 2014, which was a year old at the time with about 15K on it.. turns out the front rotors were slightly warped.

They turned them and all was well.. no more issues since then... I've got about 37K on it.. it's been about 2 years now.

At last check, the front rotors were about ready for replacement. I'll probably have a front brake job done by this Fall... still excellent stopping force from the system though!

Take it to the shop and have them look at the rotors.. probably have some warp to them... it doesn't take much to get the shimmy going!

who did you buy the warranty from? If its the Infiniti one, it might cover it unless it's due to warped rear rotors. If it's third party, who knows.

Yea when I looked at my paper work, the warranty is a third party one. It's a company called continuous customer care, but I'm still gonna take it to the dealer Thursday and see what's up

did replacing the pin correct the issue. Do you have the 2014 Hybrid sport? Making sure we are talking about the same model. thanks

That bulletin covers all sport models because of the unique brakes. It doesn't matter that if is a hybrid.

they had to do that TSB back in 2014 on my former q50 3.7 2014. problem solved.

I’ve had mine in a couple of times for brake issues. Last one I think was done under a TSB and seems to have fixed the problem. It’s been over 5k miles and they are solid and smooth, no vibration.

Years ago with my Subaru (and with others on that forum), there was an issue with deposits of pad material building up on the rotors a causing a vibration type feeling. It came from not being very aggressive with the brakes. Making a few quick, somewhat hard stops from highway speed (safely, and not in traffic) would wear off these deposits and restore smooth braking performance. Not sure if that is your issue or not, but it is an easy and no-cost thing to try.
