Upper screen oem upgrade

Good morning enthusiasts i have a 2019 luxe and was wondering if swapping out the upper screen from a 2021 or newer would allow me to use android auto not really worried about the navigation as mine doesn't have it from the factory. Tha KS in advance for the feedback.
Actually, a 2020 Q50 also has AA/CP. However, it's my understanding that you have to change out the entire InTouch center stack (DCU, Integral Switch, and AV Control unit plus some programming changes in order to do so. @nickdaria is putting together a kit to retrofit older Q50's to run AA/CP. No one knows when he's going to release it though.

@Avedis53 thanks for replying so the upper screen replacement wouldn't just be plug and play?
Regardless of your project, anytime the DCU (upper display) is replaced, it has to be reconfigured for your car's features using a CONSULT diagnostic tool that your Infiniti shop has. Unless you get lucky and buy a used replacement DCU that just so happens to be configured like your old DCU, then it's plug and play.

@Avedis53 thanks for replying i just want a newer upper screen with android auto i believe my local nissan should be able to reconfigure the upper screen. Also does the lower screen need replacing too?
As I stated above, it's not just the DCU that has to be replaced. It's the entire center stack that has to be from a 2020+ Q50 plus LVDS cables and programming to have AA or CP. The 2020+ displays are HD (1080P) vs. the older displays that are 480P in addition to the required DCU programming.

Read through nickdaria's thread on this:

SmartAutoKit. No reconfiguring or DCU replacement etc. Amazing and more featured than the 21+.
From what I recall in past threads, the SmartAutoKit has been problematic for some.

No issues here after however many years. Some people had issues installing it correctly or not understanding how it works. At this point your car will be gone and you'll be in a Plaid and missed out on enjoying the updated infotainment you could have had with the SAK kit unfortunately. But then again, you'll be in a Plaid so thats a plus! :)
I'm sort of leaning towards an Audi RS5 Sportback now but in the meantime, I'm still hoping nickdaria can someday finish his InTouch upgrade kit before I sell my Q. I've been sitting on 2020 InTouch hardware that I bought 2 years ago, waiting to install it.

You've been hanging around @IridiumRS400 again haven't you? The RS5 is really good looking though in fairness. XD
Yeah, that and all the fit and finish issues concerning Tesla are making me look in other directions. I will lease any European vehicle instead of buying it as repair costs are absurd after the warranties expire. Maybe even a Lexus LC500 but I favor 4 doors. An M3 perhaps?

An LC500 would be pretty awesome. I can't stand how the newer M cars look.... Hmmmm CTS-V Blackwing? Get the NA V8, manual option still plenty of room and skip the insane Euro repair costs.
I've thought about a Blackwing but the wife won't approve a manual.

That would be sweet!
I'm in the process of selling 55% of my Apple stock plus my wife's mother just gave us $20K as a gift, so money isn't an issue. I just got my Q tuned though so I'll probably drive it for a while before getting serious about another car. The wife loves the Q much more than the Mazda3, so I'll trade in the Mazda, give her the Q, and move up to a nicer sport sedan of some sort.

That sounds like a good plan. If the wifey gets the Q then it seems reasonable to get you in a Blackwing even if it's a stick.
It might even get me laid. Hmm, maybe I should buy one sooner rather than later. 🤷‍♂️
