Hi Guys,

Finally got around to getting some things done to the 2014 Q50s.

At nearly a year old I began to grow cold on the car and started looking at trading it in on a 40K 2015 Mustang GT.

My car only had 400 miles on it, but they would only give me 30-33k in even though I paid 47k with a stock Stillen splitter, Stage 2 CAI and splash guards, with the expensive Ray Wheel Appearance Package.

I really got disgusted and thought I'll keep the car and make look more unique and handle better with a lot more class. :)

Special thanks goes out to forum members here taking the time in giving insight through PMs on these mods:

Special thanks to the Local Shops who took special care of my car like it was their very own and putting the time and effort in what is now.

Local Shops:

  • Greg Edgington @New Car Concepts: Paint and body work work on the Stillen front splitter, Rear Diffuser and Spoiler.
  • Sam @Custom Car Stereo and Tint: Black wrap and tint on rear tail lights, Suntec the entire front end, A pillars, also from the rockers to rear splash guards.
  • Tony Cheung @jotechracing.com: Stillen RSR lowering spring, 370z Whiteline FSway bar, Tunabe Under brace, and yes the car handles like a real sports car now!

i dont know why anyone would go from infiniti to ford. Does mustang handle better than q50? probably not. mustang good for only straight line drag race and even thats dangerous. Too much power to rear wheel.

i havent yet seen any white q's with GTR rims or nismo 370 rims yet. anyone have pics?
I doubt you will see the nismo rims anytime soon. They are so new and you cannot use the staggered set on the Q50. Someone would need to find two front pairs to be able to run them on the Q50. GTR wheels I believe I have seen but don't have pictures unfortunately.

There is a brown on with 09 GTR wheels and a white one with the newer GTR wheels but all fronts.

Also you can run the nismo wheel as staggered, you will have to stretch and run some camber to make the rears fit. :)

the new q50 red sport is supposedly going to be on a staggered setup, but article didnt say if this also applies to AWD versions. I would imagine so. The gtr is awd and runs staggered

running a staggered setup is never a problem on AWD as long as you do it right. Basic math and you can run any size wheels you want

Thanks Yassy.

The new 2015 Mustang does have great handling. Tom Reynolds placed 3rd in his SCCA FS 2015 Mustang GT.

Like any car you have to add the right combined upgrades to get your vehicle to handle and increase performance.

The 2015 5.0 Coyote stock motor has stronger connecting rods and trans is nearly bulletproof as it is FI ready to +700HP, something the 3.7VQ and 7AT could only dream without serious rebuilds.

Well, maybe its not too far fetched for the 3.7VQ, details further below. :)

2015 Mustang 5.0 Stock Blown 700whp

On turbos the 5.0 gets even better...

2015 Mustang 5.0 Stock Motor Twin Turbo 711whp/625wtq

2015 Mustang 5.0 Stock Motor Twin Turbo with more boost to nearly an 8 sec car! People are getting +1000whp now with the stock engine using billet oil pump gears and crank sprockets.

Having said all that, I still think the Q50 is a much more unique and classy car with a lot more personality.

Also, there are good things happening to the 3.7VQ/7AT. :)

Eric J Fores here in the forum with his Stillen Supercharged Q50 has a recipe with Motordyne ART pipes, ARK exhaust and EcuTek tuned netting 500whp and 387wtq.

Got my car back today. Unfortunately the injectors maxed out around 6500 rpms so we lowered the redline until my ID1000's come in. Still managed to produce over 500whp and still have room in the upper RPMs. I have a few videos of the dyno tune on my Instagram. (@q50sc). Stock Stillen supercharger kit, stock pulley and impeller. I just engineered it differently. Tuned on EcuTek by JMS Racing in San Antonio.

Fast Intentions has been developing a solid twin turbo kit for the 350-370z and G35-37.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We just wrapped up our first "True Stage 1" Nissan 370z Twin Turbo install. We are very pleased with the outcome. 456hp / 402 FT LB of Torque just cresting 9psi on 91 octane. This was all done with the stock fuel system, stock catalytic converters and boost controlled internally via ECUTek. This car is a true sleeper!

What we have here is our E.T.E. Exhaust Transition Elbow on the left. It allows you to keep OEM catalytic converters. On the right side which is the tight side, is our 3" downpipe with a 2.5" bottom connection. This allows you to bolt directly up to any C.B.E. Cat Back Exhaust that starts in OEM location. This downpipe is what we used when we set the stock block world record of 677 RWH. Rounding out the package center stage is our billet aluminum flex plate for the 7AT Automatic Transmission crowd. We are all about diversifying at FI Inc. >>>Your Nissan 370Z/Infiniti G37 Coupe Twin Turbo system is 1 phone call away.

Fast Intentions Twin Turbo Kit w/7AT upgrades road test short clip @10lbs of boost.

Same car with Stock Motor VQ3.7 Twin Turbo Kit Fast Intentions upgraded clutch pack 7AT running 13lbs boost @ 677whp/581wtq broke into the 10s! :D

Here is the same car a couple of months earlier undergoing trials that helped Fast Intentions dial in the 7AT kit they are now offering with newly installed Twin Turbos on the 3.7VQ 7AT 370z - Boost control off @ 6.6 psi, 456.38 whp, 407.27 torque built 7AT flexplate and clutches. I'm going to make a possible assumption here that this setup might also be running a Fast Intentions less restrictive HFC cat or R-TP.

nice pics above.
To fords credit they have done a good job, but i just dont completely like the styling. Rear end looks good, but the headlights and front end are about 10 years behind as well as interior design. Everything about the car seems undersophisticated imho.
mustangs are just like hellcats, too much power on rear wheels just waiting for a fishtail and accident.

Infiniti atleast has better design, just doesnt have the power, yet. But I'll bet many here change their tune when the 400 hp version comes out in a few months time. Just like you can mod the gtr to over 1000 hp, so to i am sure the q50 TT could be modded to match the mustang. All that
power is better diverted to awd, just wish we had transaxle like the gtr.

Infiniti is in change, eventually all engines will be turbos, pushing towards gtr territory.

Now I see my baby up front! :D
