Looking to add Apple Car Play to my 2018 Q60 RS. I noticed there are several options out there. Anybody have any input as to which one would be the most reliable/best kit to get. Here are my options:

Smart Auto Kits

Car Integrations

GTA Car Kits

Unavi

Naviks

Joy Auto

I plan to use it both wired and wireless. Probably mostly wireless. Thank your input!

I installed one from AliExpress that looks just like the GTA car kits one. I mainly got it because it was cheap and the GTA one said that you don't have to run a wire to the armrest for sound. Overall I'm happy with it. The aux wire still needs to be run to the armrest aux in. The sound didn't work with the harness my kit came with. I think it might be because the I have the Bose sound system. The Android Auto works great over wireless. It's nice because it starts up automatically after I start the car since it connects over Bluetooth. That's good because it doesn't work over USB. Carplay and AA both only work over wireless. Sound is good through the aux cable. It has the usual problems that other kits have like using the knob to control sometimes caused it to try to make a call so I just use the touchscreen. The steering wheel control to change radio stations will also change to the previous or next song on AA even though I'm not using the aux audio.

I bought the one in the link below and the seller was very helpful with some installation problems I had (my mistakes) and sent me couple of audio cables to try plus a firmware upgrade. I've had it for a couple of months now and I feel it was worth the money.

Not with the Naviks. I'm not even sure it can do a screen mirror. I think the SmartAutoKits and Tesla screens are the only ones can run apps natively.

I just got an email from Naviks and it seems there are two other down sides. The resolution is lower than other units like the Joyeauto and SmartAutoKits and you can't use the factory radio while using it since it's using the aux port. You would have to use Android Auto or CarPlay apps like Pandora for audio while using the navigation in the Naviks unit. Might be able to listen to music from a usb drive. At the price of $540 I'm thinking maybe it's not worth it.

I just looked at the Naviks unit. It looks like it doesn't require opening the display and adding a board like the Joyeauto and others. Downside is it only works with the center console controller, no touch screen. Looks appealing to me if I can use voice commands since entering an address would be a pain with the controller. Simple install and looks like it uses the factory usb ports.

Sorry to bring this back, I got a little tired of taking my dash apart, connecting and disconnecting, I found an inexpensive car play unit on Amazon, $100, plug and play, not to P*** anyone off, it works well.

Any particular reason you guys recommend Smart Auto Kits. From my understanding its actually an android tablet with car play ability. How does it compare to the one that Infiniti "officially" supports from Unavi?

Are there regular software updates to keep with iOS changes that might break car play?
