God I love black cars. Sometimes I wish I bought a black one but knowing where I live I'll never ever able to keep it clean
I went with white on my Q40 with light interior. Cooler on hot summer days and easier to care for. I found that was doing all the detail work anyway, clay bar, Nanoskin, Klasse AIO polish, Klasse sealant, PS21 pure carnauba wax, Sonus Acrylic Glanz, etc. I figured if I was still going to do all the work, I might as well get the pop.

Easier for me in San Diego. :D

Not the best comparison, but you get the idea

LLumar CTX 30/15 and Llumar AirBlue 90 by Pro Tint in Plano, TX

Windshield: Johnson InsulatIR 70%. Can't even tell that the tint is there for anyone wondering
Front windows: 20% Huper Optik Xtreme
Rear windows: 20%? Came from dealer so not sure.

Suntek 15% all around and 60% on the front.

I went with rayno phantom s5 (carbon ceramic), 15% back and rear sides, 20% front sides, no front. I went with rayno because everyone wanted 270 or 350 for the s7 while this guy charged 199.

Had solar guard carbon on my elantra by for 10yrs, no fade...i feel like it had better heat reduction than this new film on my q50. However, feels like there is more light inside, easier to see through back at night. Don't have the elantra anymore to compare it side by side.

Here are pics...took some from inside so you can see that there is a lot more light and easier to see outside at night.

Edit: deleted pics and added new ones with less reflection...

If I put on tints that dark in Oregon, I'd be ticketed. Here, tint must allow at least 35% transmittance on all glass except the windshield and that can have non-reflective tint on only the top 6 inches. Tint reflectance can't be more than 13% on any window.

In Florida, no one bats an eye really - it's just too hot to NOT have tinted windows. Unless the officer is just looking for a reason to pull you over or to tack on extra fines for something stupid you did; but generally no care is given.

I think technically 35% is the legal limit for the front two windows in Florida. They don't care about the back doors/rear window - you can use black paint if you wanted to.

I got pulled over for tinted tail lights in Miami. :(

I would agree about tinting in Florida. Without it, your car would be hotter than an Easy Bake Oven.

Florida's tinting law is:

Windshield: non-reflective tint allowed above the AS-1 line.
Front side windows: Must allow more than 28% of light in.
Back side windows: Must allow more than 15% of light in.
Rear window: Must allow more than 15% of light in.

Tint Reflectance

Front side windows: Must not be more than 25% reflective.
Rear side windows: Must not be more than 25% reflective.

Excessive tinting is an excuse for police to stop you (just like a rear license plate light being out) and check you out for drugs, weapons, DUI and warrants. If you aren't riding dirty, then no big deal. Probably just get a warning, if that.
